This is how we do it, this is how we've always done it

How certain are you that you can avoid using AI indefinitely? How certain are you that your actions can stop it from conquering the world? 

As a creative person I share the pain as AI gets more clever and it's inventors more greedy. First the AI took a small bite of the bread we've been eating but soon it will want it all for itself. Or maybe it's the powers behind it? 

But such is progress, this has been the way of the world ever since man opened his mouth to speak something stupid, when he started command others around him. Then we started making inventions that made the older ones obsolete, taught each other skills that were needed to use the new inventions and then made more inventions so that both the older technology and the guy using it became obsolete. 

Who's fault is it? Should we blame cars for getting rid of horse carts? Or the owners of the factories that make it possible in the first place? Or should we blame the engineer who invented the automobile? Should we stop innovating because someone might lose a job? 

It's unclear what or who you oppose when you oppose AI. It's very human to feel empathy towards the self-taught artist who lost his customers because AI does the "same" for free. Same in brackets because AI isn't very good at the time of the writing.

Besides this isn't even about art. It's about the value that the corporate people want to create with AI. It's about huge businesses cutting hundreds of workers in favor of AI. And is this wrong? Haven't we been doing this since industrial era? Haven't we always built exquisite machinery to have less employees to pay to?

The crazy part is that we've seen nothing yet. We have no idea how deep and far AI will/can go. Probably way farther than human by himself. It will transform science by helping us understand concepts that would take too many minds for us to come up with. It has already changed so much for better and for worse. 

There will be casualties. But can you or do you even have the right to stop AI? Does it go away if you tell everyone you hate it? What changes when you keep opposing it?
